Method 1: Describe Topic
Best when you have a concept in mind but no formal materials yet. Simply describe what you want to learn — for example, "I want to understand how neural networks work" or "Prepare me for the AWS Solutions Architect exam."
The AI will generate a structured roadmap of sub-topics, ordered from foundational to advanced. Each sub-topic becomes its own learning module.

Be specific. "Machine Learning" is broad. "Supervised learning algorithms for classification tasks" gives the AI a sharper target.
Method 2: Upload Resources
Have a PDF, lecture notes, or a study guide? Upload it. The AI reads your material and extracts the key sub-topics automatically — no highlighting, no re-reading, no decision fatigue.
This is especially powerful when you have course materials but no clear structure. The AI builds the roadmap so you can stop guessing and start moving.

Uploading resources uses significantly more credits than describing a topic, because the AI needs to read, analyze, and structure your entire document. Method 3: From a YouTube Video
Found a good lesson on YouTube? Paste its link and the AI builds a topic around the video's key ideas, with a step-by-step roadmap of sub-topics. On the website, open Describe Topic and switch to From a YouTube video. In the mobile app, choose From a YouTube video on the Create Topic screen.
The link is checked for free first, and you see the video, its length and an estimate of the credits before you start. You can add an optional note on what to focus on. You can leave while the topic is being created; it appears with your other topics when it is ready. You only pay once the topic is created, and the cost depends on how long the video is.

Works with public YouTube videos between 2 and 60 minutes long that teach through speech. Private, live, age-restricted and music-only videos cannot be used. You can create up to 5 topics from YouTube videos a day. This option is for individual learners and is not offered in organization accounts.

Choosing Your Explanation & Quiz Language
During topic creation, you'll be asked to select the language for your explanations and quizzes. This is the language the AI will use to teach you — all Explain Mode content, knowledge checks, and Quiz Mode questions will be generated in this language.
This setting is independent of your interface language and your source material. For example, you can upload a textbook in English but choose to receive explanations in German. The AI reads the original material and teaches you in the language you selected.

Because the AI has to read, analyse and structure your entire document before it can build the roadmap. Describing a topic starts from 50 credits, while building a topic from uploaded files needs a balance of at least 1,000 credits. If you are watching your balance, use Describe Topic for straightforward subjects and save uploads for complex material where the document itself adds real value.
Why do I need more credits than the estimate to start a topic from a YouTube video?›
To start, your balance must cover twice the estimate, or 50 credits if that is more. That margin makes sure the topic can always be finished. You are only charged what creating the topic actually cost, and only once it is created. Nothing is charged if it fails or you cancel.
Do I have to finish Explain Mode before I can take a quiz on a sub-topic?›
No. Once your topic is created, you can use Explain Mode and Quiz Mode in any order, and the choice is yours. Many learners start with Explain Mode, where the AI teaches each sub-topic step by step, then switch to Quiz Mode to validate what they know. In Quiz Mode you choose the difficulty level, number of questions and question types, then get instant feedback with a detailed explanation for every answer.
